Gosse, Sir Edmund
(21 sep. 1849, Londres, Inglaterra–16 may. 1928, Londres).

Crítico e historiador literario británico. Trabajó principalmente como bibliotecario y traductor (de las obras de Henrik Ibsen, entre muchas otras). Escribió las historias literarias 18th Century Literature [Literatura del s. XVIII] (1889) y Modern English Literature [Literatura inglesa moderna] (1897), como también las biografías de Thomas Gray, John Donne, Ibsen y otros, e introdujo entre los lectores ingleses numerosas obras de autores del continente europeo. Muchos de sus ensayos críticos fueron recopilados en French Profiles [Perfiles franceses] (1905), y su autobiografía Padre e hijo (1907) ha sido muy admirada.
